If you’ve noticed your rent is getting a little bit out of hand, the city of Montreal wants to help out.

The City of Montreal suggests that all tenants register their current rent with "Vivre en ville," an online registry whose goal is to assist in reducing skyrocketing rental prices

According to the website, the organization’s goal “is to contribute to the development of sustainable communities throughout Quebec.”

Christian Savard, the general director of Vivre en Ville, said that the website can be a valuable tool for governments in their mission to protect tenants against excessive rent increase and keep under control property inflation.

You can register your rent right now in Montreal and elsewhere in Quebec here!
